Weber Q Electric Grills

One of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of barbecue and grilling equipment, Weber creates grills and smokers that have great features and cook beautifully. You can read more about the Weber company here.

The general interest in electric grills is growing due to their ease of use but also because of the increased number of building restrictions banning any type of fire on apartment and condo decks. Weber responds to this demand with its Q Series, which feature two small portable electric grills: the Weber Q 1400 and his big brother, the Weber Q 2400 electric grill. These new 2014 models come to replace the old Q-140 and Q-240 models.

With a dark grey cast aluminum body and glass-reinforced nylon frame, the Weber Q electric grills have an attractive, modern look. As would be expected from a portable indoor grill, the Weber Q grills offer a limited cooking space of 189 square inches on the Q 1400 and 280 square inches on the Q 2400. Most of the electric grills have limited max. temperatures, however the Weber Q series can get up to 500 degrees or more, depending on the ambient temperature, according to Weber. The aluminum retention liners have a great action on preserving temperature. May not seem impressive, but according to customers switching to Weber electric grills, the Qs deliver superior sizzle.

The cooking grates are made of porcelain-enameled cast iron. Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates combine the ease of porcelain-enameled with the superior heat retention of cast-iron. As usual with Weber grills, a removable grease pan is also present. Travelling with the Q grills is easy as the cooking surface is large enough for your needs and, of course, there is electricity available at your destination. As many owners liked their Q grills at home and on the go, Weber created a few larger models, installed on carts. Roller carts can also be purchased separately so that you use your Weber Q grill as a table top grill or mounted to a Weber roller cart with two legs, two wheels, tool hooks and even side-tables.

The Weber Q electric grills are covered by a 5 year limited warranty, as follows:

  • Cookbox – 5 years, no rust through or burn through (2 years on paint excluding fading or discoloration);
  • Lid Assembly – 5 years, no rust through or burn through (2 years on paint excluding fading or discoloration);
  • Porcelain-enameled, cast iron cooking grates – 5 years, no rust through or burn through;
  • Plastic Components – 5 years, excluding fading or discoloration;
  • All Other – 2 years.

Webers are just great grills no matter which one you decide on. The Q series are just neat little grills that are so versatile. I have a huge mega burner rotisserie stainless thing that just sits there now that I have used a Weber Q. They are just simple and don’t require a whole lot of anything to use and clean. Plus you can move them all over easily since they weigh so little. The electric is a great model. The only downside I have found is that… (read more)

The grill heats up quickly and evenly. I assumed that the metal dome top would steam everything rather than provide a true sear to anything. I was extremely surprised when all the chops including the pork belly came out beautifully seared and the fat on the pork belly was perfectly charred to our liking. It was so QUICK!! Honestly it was quicker than our infrared propane grill on the balcony that we use during the summer. You have to keep the lid down and this effectively cooks everything quickly and provides the right amount of heat combined with the awesome grates.
A tiny issue is that cooking surface is a bit small. We had to cook everything in 3 batches. Again, the grill is super quick! There were two pork bellies and 2 odd shaped chops that would fit at a time. If you need a better example: Imagine 6 center cut boneless chops; that is what you can grill at one time on the small surface… (read more)

I’m one of those old die-hard charcoal grilling is the only kind of grilling kind of guys. Propane grills just didn’t have the “flavor” element or history or tradition…or skill. So when I say I was skeptical, I qualify it as a refusal to accept most grilling options except for the coal. This compact electric grill is perfect for urban dwellers who can’t use charcoal on a balcony or small porch area. The amount of smoke and debris is minimal and quite frankly, it does a really nice job of evenly cooking my culinary projects. I’ve grilled all kinds of meat: tri tip, hot dogs, lamb chops, burgers, and of course the occasional veggie as well. Nothing has disappointed me yet! (read more)

Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker

One of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of barbecue and grilling equipment, Weber creates grills and smokers that have great features and cook beautifully. You can read more about the Weber company here.

Smokey Mountain Cookers are Weber’s high quality, charcoal fueled, bullet-shaped smokers. Often seen winning at competitions against commercial cookers, the Smokey Mountain Cookers are easy to use and produce incredible results.

The popular Weber Smokey Mountain Cookers are available in three models:

  • Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker 14.5″;
  • Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker 18.5″;
  • Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker 22.5″.

The cooker is comprised of three sections—a charcoal bowl, where the charcoal briquettes and smoke wood reside; a cooking section containing a water pan, two cooking grates, and an access door; and a classic Weber domed lid.

Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker SmokerCooking Performance & Features

The cooking area is 286 sq.in. on the 14.5″ model, 481 sq.in. on the 18.5″ model and 726 sq.in. on the 22.5″ Smokey Mountain model.

The large 22.5″ Smokey can accommodate a few slabs of ribs on the grates without cutting them or bending them as would be necessary on the smaller models.

All these big units can cook at remarkably steady temperature for hours and using the vents makes raising and lowering temperature easy.

The four rust-resistant dampers allow for easy heat control without lifting the lid. Made of rust-resistant aluminum, the damper system is not only functional but also durable. The Weber Smokey Mountain grill also features a built-in thermometer, but for perfect cooking results we recommend the use of a special meat thermometer.

Made of heavy-duty plated steel, the cooking grates are durable, easy to clean and can hold enough heat for giving your stakes great sear marks. The Smokey Mountain Cookers features a rust-resistant aluminum fuel door for easy access to fuel and for adding water to the water pan. However adding water or charcoal trough the side door may be a little tricky. On the grill we have tested, the door was not a perfect fit, thus letting smoke out and oxygen in.

The charcoal chamber is porcelain enameled and the heavy-duty plated steel charcoal grates are durable and capable of withstanding the high heat of any charcoal fire.

Construction

The Smokey Mountain grills have a beautiful solid construction. Considering their size and weight and the lack of wheels, moving is not as easy as with other grills.

Weber Ranch Kettle Charcoal Grill

Weber is one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of barbecue accessories in the world. With great reputation for quality, reliability and outstanding customer support, the company enjoys worldwide popularity. You can read more about the Weber-Stephen brand in our detailed article here.

The Weber Ranch Kettle charcoal grill is another great example of the company’s superior quality products.

Cooking Performance & Features

According to Weber, their Ranch Kettle charcoal grill is a “Weber kettle on steroids” and considering its generous cooking surface we agree. Originally designed for ceterers and country chefs, the 1104 sq.in. cooking surface is great for picnics and large family reunions. The cooking surface is large enough for cooking multiple turkeys, roasts, chickens, up to 19 Cornish hens in the same time or approx. 54 burgers. This is also the grill used in Weber Grill restaurants.

The closed lid cooking systems is a signature of Weber products. The four rust-resistant dampers allow for easy heat control without lifting the lid. Made of rust-resistant aluminum, the damper system is not only functional but also durable. The Weber Ranch Kettle grill does not feature a built-in thermometer. We recommend the use of a special meat thermometer for perfect cooking results.

The grill comes equipped with a rack (Tuck-Away lid holder) which can be used for holding the lid while you are tending on the food. It is a nice option, especially considering the large lid dimensions.

Made of heavy-duty plated steel, the cooking grates are durable, easy to clean and can hold enough heat for giving your stakes great sear marks. The Weber Ranch Kettle feature hinged grates, which are great for easy access to fuel without lifting the whole grate or removing food from the grill. Adjusting charcoal quantity as needed is super easy.

Large cooking area on the Weber Ranch Kettle grill

The Ranch Kettle charcoal grill also features heavy-duty plated steel charcoal grates, durable and capable of withstanding the high heat of any charcoal fire. By using the charcoal grates and the charcoal baskets you can set up your grill for direct or indirect heat, according to your preference. You can even use the charcoal baskets with chips or chunks for extra smoke and flavor.

Construction

Built on a heavy-duty steel cart frame and porcelain-enameled bowl and lid, the grill has a solid construction and the large wheels and small locking casters are great for positioning it as desired. Ash is easily collected in the ash catcher system, made of an aluminum removable bowl. This is an open system and not an enclosed one, as on the Weber Performer grills.

The Weber Ranch Kettle also features two glass reinforced nylon lid handles and three tool hooks, useful for keeping your cooking tools close.

The grill is well sealed and even if it does have a very large cooking space, it does not consume so much more fuel than a regular charcoal grill.

It is 42″ high, 37.75″ wide, and 44.75″ deep.

Help & Support

All Weber charcoal grills are covered by a 10-year limited warranty, as follows:

  • Cooking /charcoal grates – 2 years warranty;

You’ll also find product manuals, general tips on grill maintenance and grilling itself on this site. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, there is a search feature to help you find it quickly.

Summary

Even if it may seem a bit expensive at around $1,200.00, if you are looking for a large charcoal grill for your big barbecue party, you can be sure the Weber Ranch Kettle will make your guests happy.

Weber Performer Charcoal Grills Review

Weber is one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of barbecue accessories in the world. With great reputation for quality, reliability and outstanding customer support, the company enjoys worldwide popularity. You can read more about the Weber-Stephen brand in our detailed article here.

The Performer Series design is based on the original Weber kettle design, the most popular backyard grill in the world. The kettle is now mounted on a cart instead of three legs, but there are also other important improvements which we’ll look at in this article.

The Performer Series features three models:

  • Weber Performer Silver
  • Weber Performer Gold
  • Weber Performer Platinum

Cooking Performance & Features

The closed lid cooking systems is a signature of Weber products. The damper system allows for easy heat control without lifting the lid. Made of rust-resistant aluminum, the damper is not only functional but also durable. All the Weber Performer charcoal grills feature a built-in thermometer for easy checking the heat inside the grill. However, for perfect cooking we would recommend the use of a special thermometer.

Hinged cooking grate

The Weber Performer grills come with a rack which can be used for holding the lid while you are tending on the food. It is a nice option, however if the grilling surface is fully loaded with food, access might be a little difficult on that part.

The total cooking area of the Weber Performer grills is 363 sq.in.

Made of heavy-duty plated steel, the cooking grates are durable, easy to clean and can hold enough heat for giving your stakes great sear marks. The Weber Performer models feature hinged grates, which are great for easy access to fuel without lifting the whole grate or removing food from the grill. Adjusting charcoal quantity as needed is super easy.

By using the charcoal grates and the two charcoal baskets you can set up your grill for direct or indirect heat, according to your preference. You can even use the charcoal baskets with chips for extra smoke and flavor.

Electronic Touch-N-Go™ gas ignition system
Electronic Touch-N-Go™ gas ignition system

Our favorite feature of the Performer grills is the Electronic Touch-N-Go™ gas ignition system, powered by a disposable LP gas cylinder. Simply fill the charcoal burners and position them over the burner. Turn the gas knob, press the ignition button and in five minutes your grill is ready for cooking.

Another advantage of the One-Touch cleaning system is that it also acts as a second damper. The same vents that allow ash to fall easily out of the bowl help bring oxygen up to the fire. Closing the One-Touch cleaning system and the top damper allow you to choke out the fire easily.

The CharBin storage container is useful for storing charcoal away from rain or can be used as a garbage can if needed.

The CharBin is a convenient way to store your charcoal. The size has been designed to hold up to a 30-pound bag. Although it has no lid, I think it pivots back close enough under the work table that rain water should not be able to get into your charcoal. The bin is designed to hold the bag, itself. I already have the perfect charcoal storage system, so I used this with a kitchen trash bag for a close at hand garbage can, which is also convenient.

Construction

The Weber Performer is built on a heavy-duty steel cart frame. The bowl and lid are heavy-gauge porcelain enameled and the vents are rust-resistant. Equipped with 2 wheels and 2 locking casters, the grill is easily moved into place.

The ash catcher is made of aluminum and the One Touch cleaning system is made of aluminized steel. The grills are easily assembled.

The overall look of the Weber Performer grills construction inspires quality and reliability.

Help & Support

Summary

Built to last, the Weber Performer charcoal grill takes the original successful Weber design and packs it with great features which we’ll not only guarantee great cooking but also fun while doing it. Even if it might seem a little expensive, the Weber Performer grill will not disappoint you.

Weber One-Touch Charcoal Grills Review

Dedicated to making grilling fun and flavorful, Weber has been building high quality grills since 1952, when they invented the first charcoal kettle. Now, Weber’s legendary charcoal grills have become a backyard icon.

The Weber One-Touch Charcoal Grills Series features 4 models which you can easily compare in the table below. These four models are:

    • Weber One Touch Silver 18.5″;
    • Weber One Touch Silver 22.5″;
    • Weber One Touch Gold 22.5″;
    • Weber One Touch Gold 26.75″.

Cooking Performance & Features

The closed lid cooking systems is a signature of Weber products. The damper system allows for easy heat control without lifting the lid. Made of rust-resistant aluminum, the damper is not only functional but also durable. The Gold models also feature a built-in thermometer for easy checking the heat inside the grill. However, for perfect cooking we would recommend the use of a special thermometer.

The total cooking area of the Weber One Touch charcoal grills varies between 240 sq.in. on the smallest model (the Weber One-Touch Silver 18.5″) and 504 sq.in. on the largest one (the Weber One-Touch Gold 26.75″).

Made of heavy-duty plated steel, the cooking grates are durable, easy to clean and can hold enough heat for giving your stakes great sear marks. The Weber One-Touch Gold models feature hinged grates, which are great for easy access to fuel without lifting the whole grate or removing food from the grill. Adjusting charcoal quantity as needed is super easy.

The Weber One-Touch charcoal grills feature heavy-duty plated steel charcoal grates, durable and capable of withstanding the high heat of any charcoal fire. By using the charcoal grates you can set up your grill for direct or indirect heat, according to your preference.

The One-Touch cleaning system makes cleanup easy and hassle free. Rotate the handle and the three blades in the bowl move ash through the vents in the bowl and down into the ash catcher. The aluminum ash catcher lifts out for easy ash disposal and cleaning. The Weber One-Touch Silver grills feature an open aluminum asher, while the Weber One-Touch Gold models feature a fully enclosed ash catcher which keep ashes from blowing around and is easily detached for quick and clean ash removal. This not only allows for easy ash cleaning but helps you cook longer, preventing the build-up of ashes that blocks vents and suffocates the fire.

Another advantage of the One-Touch cleaning system is that it also acts as a second damper. The same vents that allow ash to fall easily out of the bowl help bring oxygen up to the fire. Closing the One-Touch cleaning system and the top damper allow you to choke out the fire easily.

There is also an optional rotisserie kit for the Weber One Touch, which expands cooking options even further.

Construction

These sleek Weber units feature a heavy-gauge porcelain-enameled bowl and lid with glass-reinforced nylon handles, rust-resistant vents, durable all-weather wheels. The ash catcher is made of aluminum and the One Touch cleaning system is made of aluminized steel. The grills are easily assembled.

Made in the USA by Weber.

I’ve owned a number of under $100 grills, and there’s no comparison to the quality of my new Silver 22.5″ One Touch. I certainly could afford the Gold but in truth, the Silver is a better grill for far less money. As always I read all the reviews, good and bad, and then make up my mind. I chose the Silver and honestly, the few criticisms I read here were not justified once I actually bought and used this fine grill… (read more)

Overall I am still happy with the purchase, I love looking at that grill. It’s probably gonna grown on me more and more as years pass by. Based on price I decided to get the Silver version, but the Gold might be worth looking at. Afterall you get a much better ash-pan… (read more)

Weber Summit Grills Review

Weber is a trustworthy and reliable name in the grill marketplace, making grills since 1950. The company continuously makes efforts in improving and innovating. The Weber Summit Grills are no exception, with a modern design, powerful grilling capabilities and lots of features the Weber Summit Gas Grills are excellent products.

The new Weber Summit Series features ten different models (E-420, E-470, E-620, E-670, S-420, S-470, S-620, S-670, S-460, S-660) which we’ll discuss in this review and the differences in features can be easily compared in the table below.

Cooking Performance & Features

The Weber Summit Gas Grills are equipped with four or six primary burners (depending on the model), capable of generating from 48,800 BTUs up to 60,800 BTUs. Even if this power is not the highest in the grills we have reviewed, the Summit grills are among the most powerful gas grills available.

A high BTU number does not equal high quality cooking, but it is an indication of how much heat a gas grill can generate. Also, please keep in mind that a high BTU number also means more gas used.

Weber Summit Gas Grill with lighted control knobs.
Weber Summit with lighted control knobs.

The heating power is maximized by the sear station burner and the side burner, available only on some of the Weber Summit Grills (please see the table below). The sear station burner generates up to 10,600 BTUs and is designed to step-up heat on demand and can sear meat to seal in juices while making the outer layers tasty and crisp. The side burner is capable of 12,000 BTU, is large enough to accommodate saute pans as well as sauce pans and may come in handy for creating side dishes or sauces, while allowing you to conveniently complete cooking process at one time in one place.

Both the primary burners and the side burner use Weber’s Snap-Jet electronic ignition system to get the party started as quickly as possible.

The Summit E-470, E-670, S-470 and S-670 models also provide a 10,600 BTUs rear-mounted infrared rotisserie burner and a tuck-away rotisserie system with flip-up motor and separate spit and fork storage in the enclosed cart.

Cooking grates are made of stainless steel, which are easy to clean, retain heat very well and make lovely sear marks.

The stainless-steel Flavorizer bars are also present in the Summit Grills, directing juices away from the burners while generating the smoke flavor and preventing excessive flare-ups.

The primary cooking area of the Summit grills varies from 468 sq. in. to 693 sq. in. This is the largest primary cooking area of any grill in our reviews. The cooking space is completed by the warming rack area (112 to 145 sq. in.) which allows for keeping things hot and ready for serving.

If you’re planning a big barbecue party and you do not want your guests to wait for their burgers while others are already being served, the Weber Summit grills are the ones you should be looking for.

One of the great features of this grill is its handy Grill Out handle light. The little box unit on the center of the handle has a tilt sensor that will turn on the light when you lift the lid. Now you can grill at night without any problems.

Fuel

LED tank scale display on Weber Summit liquid propane grills.
LED tank scale display on Weber Summit liquid propane grills.

All the Weber Summit models can be fueled by natural gas or liquid propane. Natural gas fueled models have a great advantage as you don’t need to worry about refilling the tank. However, please consider carefully when choosing natural gas or liquid propane versions, as once purchased that is the only fuel you can use. For safety reasons, Weber does not offer adapters for changing fuel type.

All the liquid propane fueled Weber Summit grills feature an LED tank scale letting you know when it’s time for a refill. Simply touch the button and a light will indicate how full your tank is.

Construction

With the lid open, the Weber Summit gas grills measure 57 inches high, 66 inches wide and 30 inches deep – the smallest model and  57 inches high, 74 inches wide and 30 inches deep – the largest model.
The option of incorporating your Weber grill in your kitchen/ furniture is also available with the Weber Summit S-460 and S-660 models. The large cooking space and available features make the Summit grill bulkier and heavier than other models. However, if the space is not an issue and you don’t plan to move the grill around very often, the Summit Grills may be the right choice.
Built with high quality materials and thoroughly tested by Weber to make sure they can stand up to extreme weather conditions such as high heat and salty sea air, your Weber grill will be with you for a long time.

Help & Support

The Weber website has an extensive FAQs page that features information about gas grills and charcoal grills. You’ll also find product manuals, general tips on grill maintenance and grilling itself on this site. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, there is a search feature to help you find it quickly.

The grill’s stainless steel burner tubes are covered by a 10-year warranty. The cooking grates are covered by a five-year warranty, so they are guaranteed not to rust or burn through during that time. All remaining grill parts are covered by a two-year warranty.

Weber Spirit Grills Review

The 2013 Weber Spirit Grills have been re-engineered and that is easily visible both in its modern design as well as the packed features. The control panel has been moved in front, making it easily accessible and the two stainless-steel side tables fold down, for increased maneuverability and easy storage. The new Weber Spirit Series features five different models (E-210, E-220, S-210, E-310, E-320) which will discuss in this review and the differences in features can be easily compared in the table below.

Cooking Performance & Features

As usual in Weber grills, the cooking system is composed of: cooking grates, burner tubes, flavorizer bars and the grease management system. All these are housed in a cast aluminum cookbox, durable, efficient, requiring minimal care and assistance and being able to withstand the high temperatures needed for grilling at any temperature.

The Weber Spirit Grills come equipped with two primary burners (on the E-210, E-220 and S-210 models) generating up to 26,500 BTUs or with three primary burners (on the E-310 and E-320 models) generating up to 32,000 BTUs. We generally recommend at least three primary burners on gas grills – as only two burners would limit the amount of cooking you can do simultaneously, but the choice also depends on ones grilling habits and needs. Even so, the Weber Spirit grills should be roomy enough to cook a 20-pound turkey or roast meats and vegetables at the same time. Ignition is super easy with the electronic ignition system found on all models.

Weber Spirit E-210 450 Square Inch Grill - BarbequeAndGrilling.com
Weber Spirit E-210 gas grill with foldable sidetables.

You can choose a little more power by choosing the Weber Spirit E-220 or E-320 which incorporate a side burner in their design, capable of generating an extra 12,000 BTUs. The side burner may come in handy for creating side dishes allowing for more cooking in the same time.

A sear station burner is not available in any of the Weber Spirit gas grills models.

The total cooking area is 450 sq.in. (360 sq.in. primary cooking area and 90 sq.in. warming rack area) for the two-primary burners models and 529 sq.in. (424 sq.in. primary cooking area, 105 sq.in. warming rack area) for the three-burners models. We would prefer a larger cooking area, but we have to adapt our grills to the space we have available. The folding stainless-steel side tables option is a nice feature for limited patio, deck space or balcony. However it is only available on the two-burners models. Thus considering the exterior dimensions, if you are looking into a three-burner grill, we would recommend checking out the Weber Genesis Grill Series.

All the Weber Spirit Grills come equipped with porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates which retain heat evenly providing great searing and requiring little effort for cleaning.

As the Genesis and Summit gas grills, the Weber Spirit grills are also equipped with the special flavorizer bars, positioned above the burners, catching drippings that smoke and sizzle adding more flavour to the food.

Weber E-320 Gas Grill with Sideburner

All the drippings not vaporized are funneled away from the burner tubes, down into the grease management system, thus preventing flare-ups and protecting burners from becoming clogged.

The grease management system consists of an angled grease tray and a catch pan. The grease not vaporized by the Flavorizer tubes goes away from the burners, beneath the cookbox. The tray can be easily removed for cleaning by sliding it out of the cabinet. Attention should be paid to the disposable catch pan for replacing it when it fills up.

Construction

With the lid open, the Spirit Grills measure approximately 63 inches high, 50 inches wide and 32 inches deep. There are small variations between models but not significant. Even if we would have expected smaller dimensions for a two-burners grill, the Genesis Spirit may be a good solutions for smaller spaces.

As usual in Weber grills, all the materials used are high quality and should prove to be resistant in time. The construction of this grill is excellent.

Fuel

The Weber Grills are generally versatile when it comes to fuel. However, in the Weber Spirit Series all the models are fueled by Liquid Propane and only two of them (the S-210 and E-310) are also available with natural gas fuel. The natural gas versions come equipped with a 10-foot flexible hose. The 20-lb LP tank for the LP versions is sold separately.

All the LP grill versions come equipped with a fuel gauge which indicates the remaining fuel reserve. It’s easy to read and useful for perfect cooking planning.

Help and Support

The Weber Spirit Gas Grills come with a 10-year burner warranty. Weber can be contacted via phone or email if assistance is neeeded. A helpful FAQ section addressing common concerns with the grill and a manual can be found online.

Conclusion

If you have a limited space for your new grill and the lack of an additional primary burner is not a concern, the Weber Spirit E-210, E-220 and S-210 would all make good choices. However, if you are looking for three primary burners and the price difference is not an issue, we would recommend looking into the Weber Genesis Grills Series, as the power and cooking space is significantly higher compared to the Weber Spirit E-310 and E-320 models. Even if the lack of an additional primary burner may be a concern in some of the models, the Weber Spirit gas grill is still a good choice. It provides plenty of power for the two primary burners  and it’s construction is solid and reliable. The Weber Spirit Grills are a good choice.

Weber Genesis Grills Review

Weber is a trustworthy and reliable name in the grill marketplace, making grills since 1950. The company continously makes efforts in improving and innovating. The Weber Genesis Grills are no exception, their versatility, high quality construction and features makes them some of the best and most reliable grills available today.

Cooking Performance & Features

This Weber Genesis Grills provide 637 square inches cooking space (1 507-square-inch primary cooking area and a 130-square-inch warming rack). The cooking area size is average among its class.

The components of the Weber’s cooking system are: cooking grates, burner tubes, flavorizer bars and the grease management system. All these are housed in a cast aluminum cookbox.

Cooking grates are made of porcelain-enameled cast iron (in the Genesis E-310 and Genesis E-320 models) or stainless steel (in the Genesis S-310 and Genesis S-330 models). Each typeretains heat evenly and sears food beautifully so the choice would be based on personal preference or experience. Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates combine the ease of porcelain-enameled with the superior heat retention of cast iron – no need to season and easy to clean. Stainless steel rod cooking grates make lovely sear marks, hold heat very well and clean up with ease.

The Weber Genesis Grill is equipped with three high-grade stainless steel burners capable of generating up to 38,000 BTUs. The solid steel construction makes them stronger and more resistant to burn-through and rust, as small amount of water is known to be found in liquid propane or natural gas. The maximum power output of these standard-size grill is sufficient, but could have been a little higher though. Each burner can be independently controlled, so you can grill by direct or indirect method. With great control settings on the burner valves and control knobs, the heat levels can be easily fine-tuned for perfect results.

The heating power is maximized by the sear station burner and the side burner, both available only on the Weber Genesis E-330 and Genesis S-330 models. The sear station burner generates up to 10,000 BTUs is designed to step-up heat on demand and can sear meat to seal in juices while making the outer layers tasty and crisp. The side burner is capable of 12,000 BTU, is large enough to accommodate saute pans as well as sauce pans and may come in handy for creating side dishes or sauces, while allowing you to conveniently complete cooking process at one time in one place.

The innovative Flavorizer bar system has been created by Weber and is available on all the Weber Spirit, Genesis and Summit Gas Grills. Favorizer bars are positioned above burners, with a precise angle for catching drippings that smoke and sizzle, thus adding more flavor to the food.

Different than the older versions, the Weber Genesis Grills now have control knobs on the front panel making heat control easy.

The frame structure of the grill has been built using the maximum number of welds and the fewest number of fasteners according to Weber. This provides extra-strength and

stability. The steel hood has a porcelain enamel coating (in the E-330 and E-310 models) and features a central mounted thermometer which reads inside temperature for preheating and cooking. The lid is framed by painted cast aluminum encaps. A roomy storage area is enclosed by painted steel doors. There is sufficient space inside for the LP tank or any tools you usually use. There are 6 tool hooks on the sides of the cooking space.

With the lid open, the all Genesis Grills measure 64.5 inches high, 60 inches wide and 30 inches deep. If your deck or spatio space is limited it could take a lot of space and might seem a little bulkier. If too big, the Weber Spirit Grills might be a better alternative for you.

Fuel

The Weber Genesis Grills are versatile when it comes to fuel. When purchasing, you can choose the liquid propane  fueled version or the natural gas fueled version. The natural gas
